It's been almost 13 years since I joined the now defunct Discover Vancouver by accident after all the old Asian-American forums that I was a regular on, went offline. The most obvious difference between the forumz I originally came from and these ones is that these forums are 99% white. Posters are a lot older too. Besides that, these forumz have a lot more personal attacks and political squabbling. Usually the former is a result of the latter. The one thing that really stands out, more so now, than 10 years ago, is that it's the senior citizen posters are the most faithful followers of whatever progressive global powerbrokers lay in front of them. I want to say, I'm not young(I'm 38). However, I'm one of the younger remaining posters.I usually associate blind faith in the msm, politics and academia with Gen Z. That isn't the case on these forumz. Look at CBT, look at BF, look at VF. The most obedient defenders of the Davos controlled globalist takeover are seniors. Lotusbud, Oscar Mayer, BigDuke Six, Apegirl, Holliday, Joe, YVR Man and the late Peaches and Dick Yamada for example are/were very old. The only poster in the 70+ club who doesn't guzzle the globalist cabal Kool Aid is Bricktop. Then I started wondering why people in that demographic who didn't have a woke agenda drilled into their heads when they were young could be even more brainwashed than Gen Zers. I have concluded that they refused to accept that the old system of a fairly unbiased media, academia that encourages people to think, real science, political choice with a right-left political spectrum, true human rights and an agenda free capital market still exist today. All of the institutions that they once took for granted have been bought by people outside their own borders and supplanted with an authritarian agenda. The world they once knew is gone for good and they're in denial.Anyway, just an observation. Take it or say I don't know what the fuck I'm talking about. I don't care.
The senior progressives are the last remaining scraps of the hippie generation that basically blew their brains out with whatever drugs they could get their hands on and are now desperately clinging to their liberalism trying to re-live their youth. They don't know what's going on now and really couldn't care less. They believe if they just keep chanting 'Tune in, turn on, drop out, right on" that somehow their life will have meaning and they won't have to face the ugly truth that they were nothing but miserable failures who never accomplished a damn thing. Just my ten cents (two cents adjusted for inflation).
Forums seem to mostly attract an older crowd these days. People who were young 20 years ago or more. The younger generation skipped forums and went straight to social media. When I was you people liked BBSes on dial up, then moved to services like AOL/Prodegy/Compuserve, before moving over to the WWW. I can remember using IRC back in the day too. Only people over 40 reme.ber those things.I doubt most 20 somethings (much less younger) have ever used a forum.
