Since no one has done a credible "match" anywhere in the known universe in recent months, the terms are archaic and people should be fined heavily for using them.

The most successful and creative flame matches would have a discussion thread which would accompany the match where the forum at large could comment on the progress of the match.

One of the reasons creative flaming died was a lack of participation of the side line squawkers.

I personally always enjoyed run-ins because it provided an opportunity to drop kick the squakers like sting, temple and a few others into low orbit several times during the match

Don't get your hopes up about matches. The best part of a match is the discussion thread. And anyone who stips 'no run-ins' has no business being in a match to begin with. You get challenged to a match just reply 'no stips' and usually the offending poster will drop it. Serafina and Flynn, for example, argued weeks just over stips. That match was pretty good tho. Then there are 'call-outs.' Lesser flamers, so called, think they are one in the same as a match, but this is actually not so. There are no stips in a call-out and maybe the thread will get pinned. Of course, in a match there must be judging. This is decided during the 'stip' stage. Deciding on judges is like pulling out hair. One of the many reasons Freud and Bonesaw are both bald.

There are those who love matches and those who loathe them like they would a visit to the DMV... It's mostly a dead format these days and embraced by latecomers to the game...generally Americans...

Matches are generally clumsy, plasticine-ish, and mind numbingly boorish except for the odd times a couple of old timers do one for shits and giggles...
