Reaction to posts

You will now notice several emoji icons under each post. These are rating icons. There are several of them as you will notice and each rates a particular post according to what you feel the value of the post is ie "shit post" "like" "unlike" etc etc.. Take a quick walk through them all by hoovering your mouse over each one. There's a negative / positive point system associated with each icon

This is an interesting modification because there is technically the ability to rate someone off the grid as if their posts reach X number of negative ratings they will automatically disappear from board view. Or, it can even assign members to groups once a negative threshold is met. That group being a drooling spastics group which will be confined to some rejected area of the board

I've set the value at a ridiculously high number because this obviously has the potential to be abused. I'm still familiarizing myself with the controls of this new feature so bare with me moving forward

Given the proclivity of some of our newer members towards posting images of shit and other mildly disturbing content I would ask if you feel it absolutely necessary to post such content please do so within the confines of a spoiler tag or on a board that is known to house that type of material so that should one of our more mature members happen to be browsing from a place of work they are not caught off guard when an unexpected picture of an uncoiled log of shit suddenly pops up on to their screen. You can enclose your pictures into the same as you would do an image tag by choosing the button labeled "Sp" in your post bbc control panel 


New Dark theme

A new theme named "RDD" is now available and i would highly encourage you all to have a look at it as there are several new mods which I plan on weaving into the site which seem to only play nice with this theme. that's a little down the road but it wont hurt to have a look for yourself now. YOu can choose this theme by navigating to the upper right of your screen and choosing "RDD" in the drop down menu

Ignore User Hyperlink

There is now an ignore user hyperlink in each post directly adjacent to the "report to moderator" link. once you click it the user will be ignored from that point forward until you take action to deliberately unignore them.

ironically, given what I said in the subsection above this one, this mod is not working just yet in the RDD theme for some reason so please be patient if you decide to use that theme and want to ignore someone using this method

The new rating system will be able to give multiple types of reactions based on the quality of the post.

For example: if you think a blandscape post was total shit and it is your belief  he should hang himself from a tree with a dirty sock then you will chose the icon that is a piece of shit.

Each type of reaction will have a positive or negative and unique score.

What's really neat is that you can place members into different member groups automatically based on this scoring system. And those membergroups can either open additional privileges or result in some retard like UncleDork being confined to some sewer nobody visits.

I'm still trying to decide how to structure the system to minimize the potential for abuse so right now the amount of negative hits you would need to get dumped is an absurd number

That's what I wrestle with. Trying to find a in the code to mitigate that possibility. The only counter I can realistically see is people providing positive ratings to that person as well to offset the negative.

In one of these threads, Rancid complained because he couldn't rate himself.  FFS, what do you think he's going to do with others' ratings?  Remember before having to explain a "dipshit" and individual with other forum scores to settle gave me negs constantly?

Well, I have been "anonymized" by Yahoo for the past few years.  It's one of those cute little "shadow ban" algorithm thingies that the liberty-hating leftist scum claim to this day isn't happening on any of the big platforms.

Seems I was shunted into a certain category and anything I try to poast says my User ID is "Anonymous."   This forum feature is probably based on the same formula.
