It would appear to be possible in Skype although I'm guessing participants would have to answer at the start of the call.
Launch Skype.
Click the “Conversation” menu at the top of the Skype window and select “Add People.” The Add People window appears.
Select contacts by clicking their names and clicking the “Select” button.
Click the ‘Add” button” to add your selected contacts.
Click the “Call Group” button to initiate a voice call.

I wouldn't be joining in one that started 8pm your time as that would be 4am here.
If I'm awake at 4am I wouldn't be capable of a remotely sensible conversation at that point ever.

That's why I'm trying to steer it in the way of voip eg Skype where you're a screen name like on the boards.
When chatting to Flea last night I had my nic set as Carlos Munch and she as some random Latina name so anonimity was preserved.
It would be interesting to add an audio element to the board and I would have thought It would be easy enough to record the conversations which, if people tried to bring some funnies may be worth a listen to.

Not at all. The Discord will only work when arguments happen in real time which you know normally isn't the case.
Like the Podcasts It's just another attempt to move things forward that cost nothing but an hour of Frued and my time in getting it to clck properly.
People will still post on the board as they are messaging someone for when they arrive.
Changes are happening here anyway and if this, in any way facilitates the continuation of the site then it's all good man.

The group meetings that I have been creating are probably the best option for what you're looking for
To address the issue that folks across the Atlantic are having I can also provide a URL to the VOIP plugin of the voice chat. As long as you have a microphone and some speakers connected to your computer you're good to go.

Freud's still logged in and I'm keeping my eye on it and will have a quick shat when you arrive.
I kept the same settings from last night but Freud had to do something to his phone to get it going. You may have to ask if you're on your mobile.

Well that was fun. Me, Frued, Flea and Dovey had a bit of a laugh. The sound quality and connection were poor basically ending the conversation when it had got back to just me and Freud as I couldn't log back in.
I don't know whether it was a site problem but you would have thought a program for communication between gamers would be able to handle four people chatting.
Maybe this other program Joo proposed would be better?
