They used to use that shit on ALL cars back in the day. Today they use specialty tools kind of like a pole with a device that fits into the latch. Pretty much on most cars for minor adjustments on the line.

I only care about cars that safely get me from point A to point B.  98-99% of automobiles lose value, and fairly rapidly.  They're a bad investment.  $80k off the lost and $70k on the street just off the lot...

It depends what you're buying them for. I have to buy a new one every 2 years because of the mileage I put on for work. The devaluation isnt a concern. The importance is dependability.
