I think we, Americans, need to learn to be more precise in our choice of words. 

Racism is when you think your "race" is superior to others.  So, maybe we should learn to use other words that may be more accurate.

Personally, I despise the racist that pretends that he/she isn't.  That kind of bullshit is almost more egregious than the actual racism.  You see, racists - those that believe their race is superior - are deeply insecure and unhappy human beings.   The ones that pretend they aren't, are liars in addition to being racist. 

Honestly, the use of words like "chink" and "nigger" are often used by the ignorant.  Perhaps, Flea is being ignorant in the face of bigotry.  I can guarantee you that Asians have deragatory terms and ideas about minorities, especially blacks and Hispanics. And yes, blacks and Hispanics can be racist, bigoted, biased and prejudiced too. 
 
I wonder, is it better to be a bigot and just not use the pejorative language?  There are those "civil" bigots, I'm sure you've met them, we all have.  They may never use those terms but be bigoted as all hell.  I've also seen people that use the deragatory language and yet be respectful to "minorities".

It's not a black and white issue, excuse the pun.

I was thinking about this this morning, reading the story about Ocasio-Cortez having danced on a rooftop in high school or whenever.  I watched the vid, admired the dancers including her, and my first thought was, the derision of her "dancing" is code for "Mexican."   Under their breath they mutter the other words, and when they nod their heads noddingly, they all mutter the same words.
