A couple of points though (in no particular order) Sgt Peppers. Did you like that when you first heard it? Meh. So they had an orchestra, Big whoopdy fuckin doo. They had
access to an orchestra that's the point. Compression: Been around for 50 years. Not killed music yet. A few songwriters writing most of the hits. Errrrr Motown. Stock Aitken and Shitpile. Tin Pan Alley? £3,000,000 to break a band? You Tube anyone? Lack of instrumentation? Doesn't a sampler have the ability to create every sound in the world and is therefore infinite?
This is some badly thought out shit. I could made a better argument for musical decline with my pants down and a stubborn bit of Kleenex stuck to a clagnut.
