Katherine Helmond, ‘Who’s the Boss?’ and ‘Everybody Loves Raymond’ Star, Dies at 89
Actress Katherine Helmond, who was well-known for her roles on the sitcoms “Who’s the Boss?” “Everybody Loves Raymond,” “Soap” and many others has died at the age of 89, according to reports.
Helmond died of complications related to Alzheimer’s disease at her home in Los Angeles, the Hollywood Reporter stated citing her Helmond’s talent agency.
She made her stage debut during the 1950s and 60s when she worked at a summer theatre in New York, according to her IMDB biography.
Helmond’s big breakthrough came in the 1970s, when she starred in the sitcom “Soap.” She earned four Emmy nominations and a Golden Globe for her role as Jessica Tate.
Helmond also earned Emmy nominations for her roles as Mona Robinson in “Who’s the Boss?”, and Lois in “Everybody Loves Raymond,” according to IMDB.
