Just got back from the store and use these reusable bags as much as I can. Not because of the environment tho, just because I don't want to be kicking around plastic bags until I decide to burn trash.

The link didn't work for me but I hope the guy was talking about Hemp. 100% sustainable and boidegradable, and it's not his idea. It's been done for decades. Plastics, fuels, clothing, you name it. Just not on a large scale because its too economical and environmental friendly

He's funded research that's made use of cellulose for biodegradeable "plastics" and now funding research into biofuels that extract plant energy.

I think hemp is a great idea too, I think the research needs to be done to make all these sustainability models cheaper.

Someone's ox is always going to get gored. What about makers of plastics? There must be billions upon billions in that industry. And if they're like the oil men, they'll fight against alternatives tooth and nail.

We're on the brink of a solution from Xyleco. I've posted about it. But clearly folks just want to be right and don't want to consider the actual problem.

If there were more people saying "Hey, governments, there is at least a partial solution", governments might listen. But it's about arguing, not about solutions.

That's why I often don't post in any serious way to the "debates" here. It's bullshit trolling.

I like the biodegradable plastics idea. It needs no unnecessary government interference.

Perhaps, but governments can write regulation where packaging and disposable products be made of biodegradeable materials. Since it already exists.
