If it aint broke
« on: April 18, 2019, 10:37:39 AM »
Don't fix it.

I don't think the American public is going to want to chance breaking this good trend

Trump must be doing something right because unemployment is at an all time low.

Let's review the choices -

Pervert Joe

Bernie The Commie

President Trump

I don't think Americans will have any problem figuring out that one.

50% of workers in the USA make less than 32k per year.  MAGA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"The working age population is defined as those aged 15 to 64. The basic indicator for employment is the proportion of the working age population aged 15-64 who are employed. The age dependency ratio is the ratio of dependents (people younger than 15 or older than 64) to the working-age population." - https://data.oecd.org/pop/working-age-population.htm

So we are counting part timers.

So we are counting teenagers who haven't graduated yet.

So we are counting all service industry employees and any other who make most of their income on tips.

And even with all that, 32k a year works out to $600 a week.

Unless you live in Washington DC, that's not peanuts.

If you do live in DC, become another politician, because until we seriously consider term limits for every one of them, the most they'll ever do for us is live long enough to die in government.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_members_of_the_United_States_Congress_by_longevity_of_service

The top ten and most of these are Democrats.  I guess making promises and delivering bullshit is a true winning combo.

See/hear Bernie Sanders for reference.

Where the fuck do you live?  In most of the country, that is scraping-by money, and in many parts, it's borderline homelessness money.

You're the one who's always braying about money being an indicator of success.  32k is not "success" money.  Ergo, Trump's economics are hardly "successful."

Need fixing.

PS, 50% of Americans make LESS THAN 32k.  That means 30k, 28k, 25k, 18k, etc.

"2019 Federal Poverty Guidelines Chart. HHS issues poverty guidelines for each household size. For example, the poverty level for a household of four is an annual income of $25,750." - https://www.thebalance.com/federal-poverty-level-definition-guidelines-chart-3305843

"Average number of people per household in the United States(2018) = 2.53"  - https://www.statista.com/statistics/183648/average-size-of-households-in-the-us/

32k is above poverty for a family of 4. Unless you assume most people have 3 kids or all of them are Amish; it's a safe bet a household of 4 means two wage earners. Which brings us to the median household income of 56k in the US currently.*

I covered this.

This includes teenagers who haven't graduated yet.

This includes part time work as well as full time.

This includes tip earners where it's not all reported.

I'm sorry the facts do not support your conclusions.

Federal guidelines for poverty are completely unrealistic and do not in any way take into consideration actual costs of living.

And, like I said, earning 32k OR LESS (most of those 50% will be making LESS) is not "success."  It's subsistence.  I wouldn't bray about it.

And Berine's welfare state is going to make everyone ""successful"" ? How? By equalizing the playing field and making everyone else in the country survive on 32K a year?

I'll let the Fed know you think you know more about their guidelines than they do. I'm sure they care.

600 bucks a week is not bad.

Well, yeah.  Thank god half of the country is at least middle class.

32k in a rural part of the midwest can often equal 60-70k in a coastal city in buying power. Whereas 60-70k in Nome, AK isn't going to keep you in fresh food over the winter..

It's all relative... like your family's dating rules...
