I watch them as they & their Republican allies always insust that the wealthy and large corporations should always pay less tax while US budget deficits skyrocket.
However in reality the top 1% in America are the largest beneficiaries of military spending.
The middle class taxpayer forks out all this money subsidizing a global military empire which the wealthy American should be paying for, not them. Other than paying taxes on a local military which protects American citizens within their borders, the average American should not be required to pay 1 cent for an overseas military since its primary function is to protect thr financial assets of the ultra rich and major corporations.
Foreinstance if a us tanker of some rich businessman gets attacked or hijacked by Somali pirates in the Horn of Aftica, average Americans should not be required to pay one penny towards the rescue of that ship by the US military.
That was the decision of the tycoon to go there, and so he should pay the entire shot for that rescue operation & it should be considered the price of doing business in a politically unstable and volatile region of the world.
Imho, the majority of Americans are getting ripped off by their own government having to pay for something which doesn’t really benefit nor protect them, just the ultra rich or top 1%. For that reason, the US should devise 2 taxes- one for domestic defense and the other for international or Americas overseas empire which benefits primarily the rich.
Since the wealthy in America dont wanna pay their taxes, make them pay it elsewhere.
Anyways thats just my opinion.
